Manchester City are preparing a new £100 million bid for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson after their initial offer was rejected last week. The 23-year-old, who has emerged as one of the Premier League’s standout talents this season, is City’s primary target to replace Bernardo Silva, who is leaving the club.
Anderson has impressed with his ball-carrying skills and playmaking abilities, earning recognition as an England international ahead of his first World Cup campaign. Despite Manchester United also showing interest in the midfielder, City have led the pursuit for months and remain confident of securing a deal during the summer.
The main obstacle to an agreement has been the gap in valuation, with Nottingham Forest reportedly demanding more than £100 million for Anderson—exceeding the fee Arsenal paid for Declan Rice in 2023. However, Forest’s asking price appears to reflect Anderson’s significance to the team rather than his transfer market value. Anderson has three years remaining on his contract, and he is in no hurry to finalize a move to the Etihad Stadium, focusing currently on his international performances at the World Cup.
