Leicester City trio expected to be sold this summer includes Abdul Fatawu, Jannik Vestergaard, and Ben Nelson as the club prepares for a League One rebuild following successive relegations. Reduced revenue forces the sales amid advanced talks for a new manager appointment.
The club is in advanced discussions to hire Russell Martin, formerly the manager of Rangers. Martin had been considered for the Leicester role last summer prior to Marti Cifuentes’ appointment but left Ibrox after overseeing only 17 games.
During last season, Fatawu struggled with form after suffering a serious injury that impacted his Premier League performances, despite standing out during the promotion campaign under Enzo Maresca. Vestergaard, who joined from Southampton in 2021, has seen irregular playtime under multiple managers. Meanwhile, homegrown defender Nelson made 27 appearances last term before being omitted from the final matches by Gary Rowett, who acknowledged the player’s need for greater consistency.
