Jurgen Klopp is in advanced talks to join Saudi club Al-Ittihad as Technical Director in 2024, focusing on transfer operations rather than management. The 58-year-old, currently Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull, has set conditions to leave after the start of the Saudi Pro League season.
Al-Ittihad have resumed talks with Jurgen Klopp to bring him to the club in 2024, but not as a manager. Instead, Klopp has been offered the position of Technical Director to lead the club’s transfer operations.
Klopp, currently serving as Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull since October 2024, wants to remain in his current role. His move to the Saudi Pro League side would be on the condition that he can leave after the start of Al-Ittihad’s new season, roughly seven matches into the campaign.
The German coach is open to joining Al-Ittihad in this executive role, with negotiations continuing despite earlier denials by his agent. Klopp could also reunite with former Liverpool midfielder Fabinho at the Saudi Arabian club, whom he signed for Liverpool from Monaco in 2018.
