Ibrahima Konate will join Real Madrid on a four-year contract after the World Cup, leaving Liverpool in December 2023. The French defender, aged 27, is set to reunite with former teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold and strengthen Madrid’s defense at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Ibrahima Konate transfer to Real Madrid is confirmed to take place after the World Cup in December 2023. The 27-year-old French defender rejected a contract extension from Liverpool and agreed to join Real Madrid on a four-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Konate will earn around £400,000 per week and receive a £17.3 million signing-on bonus as part of the package offered by Madrid. The defender is expected to work under Real Madrid’s new manager Jose Mourinho and reunite with former Liverpool teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold.
France will rely on Konate’s defensive skills at the upcoming World Cup, where the team aims to regain the title first won in 2018. The defender will also join four other French players at Real Madrid: Kylian Mbappe, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Ferland Mendy.
