Liverpool is considering re-signing striker Darwin Nunez as a free agent during the 2024 transfer window after his contract termination with Saudi club Al-Hilal. The 26-year-old Uruguayan star previously played for Liverpool between 2020 and 2023 before moving to the Middle East last summer.

Liverpool could re-sign Darwin Nunez as sensational free transfer following his contract termination by Saudi club Al-Hilal. The 26-year-old Uruguayan striker originally joined the Reds in 2020 and played on Merseyside until 2023, when he moved to the Saudi Pro League in a deal worth up to £56.6 million.

Nunez’s time in the Middle East was challenging; he scored six goals in 16 league appearances, and after Karim Benzema arrived at Al-Hilal in January, Nunez was dropped from the squad and subsequently had his contract terminated. As a result, he is now available on a free transfer.

A host of European clubs, including several from the Premier League, have shown interest, with Liverpool weighing up the opportunity to bring back their former player. The recent arrival of Andoni Iraola at Anfield could influence the club’s decision on whether to target the striker in the 2024 transfer window.
