Henrikh Mkhitaryan signed a one-year contract extension with Inter Milan in June 2026, following the 2025/26 Serie A title win. The Armenian midfielder played a significant role in the campaign, recording seven goal involvements in 39 appearances across all competitions despite turning 37 in January.
Mkhitaryan agreed to a salary reduction, rejecting potentially higher wages elsewhere to remain with the club. Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio highlighted the midfielder’s unique professionalism, noting that Mkhitaryan negotiates his contracts personally without an agent.
Since joining Inter Milan on a free transfer from Roma in the summer of 2022, Mkhitaryan has contributed 33 goal involvements over 187 matches. The former Manchester United player has now made more appearances for Inter than any other club in his career and aims to reach 200 appearances once the 2026/27 season begins.
