Street Fighter 6 Leads Evo 2026 as Overall Registration Numbers Decline

EVO

Street Fighter 6 leads the registration leaderboard for Evo 2026, maintaining its dominance despite an overall decline in player sign-ups. As of May 25, 2026, the tournament’s top three are led by Capcom’s flagship title, followed by Tekken 8 and Riot Games’ 2XKO, with the event set to take place in Las Vegas.

The Evo 2026 late-entrant registration leaderboard reveals that Street Fighter 6 holds the throne despite an overall decline in player sign-ups. Capcom’s flagship title remains in first place following a historic run at Evo Japan, where it set a Guinness World Record for the largest single-game fighting competition bracket.

Tekken 8 maintains second place, demonstrating the resilience of its competitive community even after a challenging period of patch updates earlier this season. The third spot is occupied by Riot Games’ 2XKO, a notable surprise on the leaderboard. Riot boosted registration numbers with the promise of a free, exclusive “Pool Party Senna” skin for players who physically register and enter the tournament bracket, a strategy that significantly increased participation.

Further down the leaderboard, Rivals of Aether 2 made a surprising jump to fourth place, overtaking established titles like Guilty Gear -Strive-. This increase is largely attributed to an aggressive registration campaign funded by Ludwig and Offbrand Games. However, analysts caution that such spikes often lead to high disqualification rates during pool stages unless players actually attend the event in Las Vegas.

Battle for Sunday Main Arena Slots

The registration numbers provide insight into the expected lineup for the Sunday main arena at Evo 2026. Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, and 2XKO appear to be guaranteed spots for the showcase. Other games, including SNK’s Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, are competing for remaining positions. While these titles do not attract the same massive crowds, they maintain dedicated player communities.

Riot’s approach with the free skin helped fill the tournament pools, but actual attendance will determine how many players compete. The event is expected to see an unprecedented number of first-round byes when brackets are finalized and matches begin.
