Konate, a centre-back currently playing for Liverpool, has a contract set to expire on June 30, 2024. Perez made this commitment during an interview, emphasizing the club’s intention to strengthen its squad with top players.
“If I am elected president, Konate will be my first signing, and he will play for Real Madrid,” Perez declared. He added that the club aims to bring in high-level players in every position for the upcoming season. Perez also hinted that Konate will not be the only top defender arriving if he continues his presidency.
In the same interview, Perez mentioned Nico Paz, a player currently at Como who previously came through Real Madrid’s academy. The club holds an option to bring Paz back for nine million euros. However, Perez indicated that the decision on Paz’s return will depend on discussions with head coach José Mourinho and his technical staff.
