Valve released Dota 2 Patch 7.41d on April 25, 2024, introducing significant updates to heroes, items, and teleportation mechanics. The patch adjusts multiple meta-defining heroes like Chaos Knight and Kez, modifies neutral items, and changes teleportation behavior to enhance gameplay balance.
Dota 2 Patch 7.41d introduces major gameplay changes, impacting heroes, neutral items, and teleportation mechanics. The update reduces the Dagon recipe cost by 50 gold to assist support players with limited resources, while Mage Slayer’s bonus damage decreases from 15 to 12. Smoke of Deceit now automatically sends a chat message to allies when used, improving team coordination during ganks.
Teleportation precision was enhanced, with self-cast Town Portal scrolls dropping heroes closer to the Ancient. Teleportation animations now partially track mobile channeling units like Phoenix and Storm Spirit, allowing opponents to better anticipate escape directions.
Hero Balances and Item Adjustments
In hero balances, Chaos Knight received a significant increase in Phantasm illusion damage during early and mid-game, strengthening his laning impact. Ancient Apparition’s Cold Feet damage per second rose, and Chilling Touch cooldown shortened. Kez suffered heavy nerfs with increased cooldowns and reduced damage on several abilities, limiting his effectiveness in extended engagements. Hoodwink, Invoker, and Ember Spirit were also slightly weakened, while Snapfire lost Boomstick interaction and saw reduced healing from Cookie.
Neutral items largely gained buffs except for Spider Legs, which had its duration reduced. To counterbalance jungle advantages, the Alert and Timeless enchantments were nerfed, lowering their night vision and attack range bonuses and reducing the effectiveness of sniping from shadows.
